With a Pilen GT, your day trips or commutes to work become a pure pleasure. You’ll arrive fresh and spotless, even if a rain shower catches you by surprise. We highly recommend a test ride.
The Pilen GT features reliable internal hub gears, dual safe brakes, and a slimmer yet comfortable saddle. On the road, the bike feels both lively and secure, thanks to its resilient frame made of CrMo steel SAE 4130. The bike is equipped with extra-strong stainless steel spokes, double-walled rims, an elegant aluminium carrier, and narrow stainless steel mudguards. Like all Pilen models, its rust protection is top-notch.
The bikes come standard with approved lighting and an approved lock. The Pilen GT is available in 1, 3, 7, and 8-speed versions. The tyres are Schwalbe Marathon Racer – easy-rolling and puncture-protected tyres that can handle high tyre pressure, suitable even for larger riders. The Pilen GT can also be fitted with a hydraulic disc brake at the front.
The Pilen GT is a touring bicycle with vintage classic lines. A charming and lively Swedish-built bike for stylish leisure rides or smooth, speckless commuting. It is a lighter and agile bike for active people who value elegance and flexibility. Timeless, pure, and classical in design, it is perfect for both weekends and workdays. You can also fit a basket and a chainguard if you like.
Pilen GT sports low-maintenance hub gears and brakes combined with handlebar shift, a coaster rear brake (with a hand-operated brake option available). It has powder-coated steel mudguards and chainguard, front dynamo and rear LED lights, and a frame-fitted rear wheel immobiliser lock. The frame is TIG-welded in CrMo steel SAE 4130 and has brazed details. Construction and form come together in carefree maintenance and classical elegance.

What makes a Pilen a rare and beautiful breed?
- Exclusive frame with steep angles built with tubes in chromium-molybdenum steel grade 4130. A more expensive and resilient steel grade that, after welding, is heat-treated to restore the metal’s strongest crystalline structure, making the weld joints become one with the frame. The frame is light, strong, and more flexible, enhancing the driving experience. The frame is welded with TIG welding, a slow and precise technique that produces strong, thin joints. The frame details are brazed with brass band. True craftsmanship is beautiful and provides the best riding skills.
- The frame’s top tube and down tube are butted, meaning the tubing is thinner in the middle to save weight (0.9–0.6–0.9 mm).
- Elegant fork with cast steel crown. Fork legs in chrome-molybdenum steel 4130 are brazed to the cast fork crown, resulting in precise handling and responsiveness.
- Very strong wheels with double-bottomed alloy rims, targeted spoke holes, eyelets, and strong stainless steel spokes. The rear wheel features butted spokes for extra strength.
- Maintenance-free bottom bracket from Tange model LN-7922 with a forged steel solid spindle, quality shielded bearings, and light alloy body cups, providing a lovely feel and spin.
- Stainless steel 18.8 mudguards, struts, carrier clamps, and all nuts and bolts. Alloy seat post and stem.

For Pilen Lyx
You choose the colour of the frame and fork, the colour of the mudguards, the colour of the rear carrier, and the colour of the chain guard. If you want the same colour for all parts, previously called single colour, you can have that. If you want the frame and fork in one colour, the mudguards in a second colour, the rear carrier in a third colour, and the chain guard in a fourth colour, you can have that too. Black mudguards, a black rear carrier, and a black chain guard are still available at no extra cost. The custom choices for mudguards, rear carriers, and chain guards have an additional cost of 150 SEK per choice, totaling 450 SEK if you want to customize the appearance of all three. You choose – we build.
For Pilen GT and Pilen GTV
The Pilen GT comes standard with a rotating chain guard mounted on the front chainring. You can choose to have the more protective chain guard from the Pilen Lyx installed—in either a colour of your choice or in matte polished stainless steel—for an additional 300 SEK. The wire-model rear carrier is never painted. You can opt to remove the rear carrier if, for example, you plan to install a child seat or prefer a more minimalist, sporty look for the bike. You choose – we build.
Please note that the Pilen GTV does not have a bicycle configurator. This is because the Pilen GT is essentially identical to the Pilen GTV, with the difference being that the GTV has 11 gears and hydraulic disc brakes.

The meaning of Pilen’s slogan “You can have it your way” applies to options and paintwork. Read about the colours available for the bikes. As far as is practically, logistically, and cost-effectively possible, we want to offer the creation of unique bikes.
The table further down the page shows which Standard Colours the models are available in with a normal delivery time of 1-2 weeks, i.e. bikes we can build with painted parts we have in stock. It also shows which colours are Plus Colours with longer delivery times (but no additional cost).
The model is available in that Standard Colour with a normal delivery time of 2-4 weeks.
NOTE: We are currently revising our colour selection process. Plus Colour may affect the delivery time to the end customer. Plus Colour does not affect the price to the end customer.

Pilen can also paint one or more bikes in any desired colour – we call this Exclusive Colour – if we receive the name and RAL colour of the paint. This is done, for example, when Pilen produces Company Bikes where the customer wants their own profile colour. Painting in Exclusive Colours incurs an additional cost which is quoted to the customer upon request – after we have checked the availability of the colour with East Coast Industrial Coatings in Västervik, Sweden, and possibly with Axalta. The cost is always quoted and includes a fixed setup cost and a cost per bike. Note: the customer must specify the RAL colour for the Exclusive Colour. An RGB code or web colour code is not sufficient.
The normal colour scheme for Lyx means that the frame and fork are painted in the chosen colour. Chainguard, mudguards, and carrier are painted in Black RAL 9005.
The normal colour scheme for GT and GTV means that the frame and fork are painted in the chosen colour. The mudguards are matte-polished bare stainless steel. The rotating chainguard and wire model carrier are not painted.
The normal colour scheme for EL1 means that the frame, carrier, and fork are painted in the chosen colour. Chainguard, mudguards, and carrier are painted in Black RAL 9005.

Child Seat and Panniers
Thule's child bike seats
Thule states that their frame-mounted child bike seats fit bikes with a carrier width of up to 150 mm. The Pilen Lyx carrier is 170 mm. If you still want to mount a Thule frame-mounted child bike seat on the Lyx, the Lyx carrier is easy to remove (four screws).
To reduce the risk of bikes with child bike seats and/or bike bags tipping over, we recommend equipping the bike with Atran Moove double stand (optional).
